Real Green Goods Raises Questions about SIGG and Recommends Greener Bottle
Concord, NH (PRWEB) July 25, 2008 -- These days, when you see a picture of Cindy Crawford or Madonna, they're probably sipping water from a SIGG bottle. "Carrying a SIGG bottle has become a green badge of honor but, sadly, it may not be that green," said Debby de Moulpied, founder and owner of Real Green Goods, a NH-based green department store.
According to de Moulpied, SIGG bottles have several secrets that don't support their environmentally friendly image:
|Last I saw, the ingredients were on a can of Coke.|
1. SIGG bottles are made out of virgin aluminum. "Aluminum is the best recyclable material, so using virgin material is nonsensical and anti-eco," said de Moulpied.
2. SIGG bottles are lined with an epoxy based resin. "SIGG is adamant that it is not a plastic but, based on the definition of epoxy, I don't know how that's the case," she said.
3. SIGG bottles are independently tested for safety. "How independent can a study be when you pay for it?" she asked. "Bisphenol A (BPA) is seriously unhealthy stuff you don't want leached into your water, and SIGG bottles might not be BPA-free."
4. SIGG won't divulge its bottle lining ingredients for fear of copy cats. "They claim their proprietary right to secrecy like Coca-Cola," said de Moulpied. "Last I saw, the ingredients were on a can of Coke."
Now for the good news. Eco warriors who want to avoid plastic bottles and possibly BPA have a safe and greener choice, according to de Moulpied: Klean Kanteen.
"I have no affiliation with Klean Kanteen," she said. "Before I invite any product onto my store shelves, I do thorough research and often contact the company with questions. Klean Kanteen exceeded my high standards. Their reusable bottles are solid, food grade, 18/8, partially recycled stainless steel. They're not lined and they're made responsibly in China." Klean Kanteen is a transparent company.
Klean Kanteen bottles are available in several sizes, tops, and colors. "I'm sure Madonna and Cindy Crawford will love them," said de Moulpied.
Relationship expert TW "T Dub" Jackson has made a public offer today to help Sarah Silverman and Jimmy Kimmel get back together.
Russellville, AR (PRWEB) July 18, 2008 -- Relationship expert TW "T Dub" Jackson has made a public offer today to help Sarah Silverman and Jimmy Kimmel get back together.
According to Jackson, after hearing about the recent breakup of comedians Jimmy Kimmel and Sarah Silverman, he knew that he had to do something to help. "As the author of "The Magic Of Making Up" I have helped over 6,200 people in over 67 countries around the world make up after a break up -- and I have the letters and emails to prove it," boasts Jackson. "Because of this, I feel it is my place -- no, my duty -- to personally offer my assistance in getting this wonderful, talented and very funny couple back together."
Since the surprise announcement of the breakup by both Silverman and Kimmel's publicists earlier this week, reporters and celebrity columnists have been trying to get the inside scoop on the real reason the duo's five-year relationship has ended. "No matter what the reason for the announcement, what both Jimmy and Sarah need to know right now, is that it is very likely their relationship can be salvaged," says Jackson. "Loss of interest, lost passion, even infidelity or worse can all be overcome and a relationship brought back to life, and I'd be glad to show them how."
Jackson admits that before learning how to get your ex back, you've got to want to get your ex back. "What I'm reading in the gossip columns this week though is that Silverman has been turning to friends for advice," says Jackson. "If she or Jimmy are anything like many of the 35,000 readers of my advice column who have gone through a break up, they are probably wondering right now if they have a second chance with each other -- and very likely the answer is yes."
If either Silverman or Kimmel want to salvage the relationship, T Dub's solution is simple. "First, Kimmel and Silverman should just come on over to my Magic of Making Up website. They should read the information on my site and watch my videos, as I provide some tips that could help both of them on the path to reconciliation right away," offers Jackson. "Then, if either of them would like my personal help, their publicists can contact me directly for a complimentary copy of my book and to arrange a personal consultation."
Jackson admits he has an ulterior motive for the offer. "Of course, by helping a couple as well known as Kimmel and Silverman patch things up, it will encourage others to give their ended or ending relationships a second chance."
For any other people who might be going through a break up and want to get back together, Jackson also urges them to visit his site for breakup advice as soon as possible.
Fizber.com displays home search results with the icons marking the homes where the stars live.
Miami Beach, FL (PRWEB) July 14, 2008 -- Fizber.com has compiled a comprehensive database of celebrity home addresses on their real estate search engine website. There are addresses from all fields including actors, actresses, pop stars, supermodels, authors and sports stars. And, with Fizber.com's online property listings displaying celebrities' houses in your area, your chances of having a famous neighbor are on the up.
Fizber.com displays the new feature on the same page as the listing itself, allowing house hunters to view the addresses of famous neighbors in the neighborhood immediately by clicking on "Celebrities in your area".
Places like New York, Los Angeles and Palm Springs have such a high concentration of bold-face names that it seems there's always a residence on the market that belongs, or belonged, to someone well known. "There's a lot of positioning of oneself out here," said Julia Foster, PR Manager for Fizber.com. "I'm always hearing people say, 'I bought a house next to such and such famous person' or 'I'm in the same neighborhood as so and so'."
When it comes to real estate, stars generally aren't treated any differently than other rich people. Homes generally don't demand a premium just because a celebrity was living there. At the same time, famous buyers are unlikely to get any kind of a bargain, since sellers often push famous folks to pay full price.
Headquartered in Miami Beach, Fizber.com is the largest for-sale-by-owner website dedicated to providing efficient, cutting-edge tools and services to homeowners who prefer to advertise without the assistance of a real estate agent. With home listings throughout the United States, Fizber.com strives to connect buyers and sellers more effectively. For more information, visit www.fizber.com.
Britain's Connie Talbot, the 7 year-old international phenomenon has over 44 million viewings on YouTube and was discovered on the popular tv show, Britain's Got Talent, featuring judge Simon Cowell of American Idol fame. Connie knocked Madonna from the number one position on the UK charts, and her debut album, Over The Rainbow, went gold in three weeks. Connie Talbot is set to release Over The Rainbow in the United States on September 30 on AAO Music/Reality.
|singing since I could talk|
Albany, New York (PRWEB) July 8, 2008 -- In 2007, an aspiring singer stepped onto the soundstage of England's enormously popular TV program Britain's Got Talent, flashed an adorable gap-toothed smile and instantly won the heart of the notoriously crusty Simon Cowell--yes, that Simon Cowell--as well as the British viewing public. In just a couple of minutes, a true star had been born.
In the past year that young lady has become an international phenomenon, with millions of YouTube views, glowing media coverage and a best-selling album--a feat made all the more remarkable by the fact that Connie Talbot is all of 7 years old.
Over the Rainbow, Connie Talbot's debut album, went gold in the U.K. in
three weeks, and is set for release in the United States on September
30th by AAO Music/Reality. Now it's America's turn to experience
"We're looking forward to working with Connie and her family," said AAO chairman Peter Kuys. "She's a happy, charming, innocent child with an exceptional talent. We're an artist and people-driven label where she will fit right in."
Over the Rainbow is, of course, named after the timeless classic from The Wizard of Oz, and it was with the album's title song that Connie first dazzled British audiences. Cowell, one of the three judges of Britain's Got Talent--the same role he so famously performs on American Idol--was left uncharacteristically speechless, declaring Connie's pure, angelic rendition "fantastic" and commending her for her "pitch-perfect" vocal on the Judy Garland standard.
Although she ultimately came in second place in the British contest, word of Connie's prodigious talent spread rapidly. Asian music fans, in particular, went wild for her--Over the Rainbow became a platinum album reaching the number one spot in Taiwan, South Korea and Hong Kong and came close to that in Singapore. When Connie toured Asia following the release of the album there, she was received with wild enthusiasm.
But that has been par for the course since she first appeared in front of audiences. The British newspaper Express & Star, covering one of Connie's U.K. concert performances, reported, "Police had to calm frantic crowds as they clamored to get into a special tent to get a glimpse of Britain's Got Talent TV star Connie Talbot… police threatened to stop last night's show unless the crowds could be brought under control."
The story of Connie Talbot's meteoric rise is "fantastic" in itself. Connie, in her own words, had been "singing since I could talk," but when she auditioned for Britain's Got Talent her family was only looking for something fun to do that day. The euphoric response by viewers and judges alike quickly catapulted the pint-sized songstress into the spotlight. As of this writing, videos of Connie have been watched more than 44 million times on YouTube. On July 16, she will have the honor of performing at the Nelson Mandela Children's Fund Annual Gala Dinner, in London.
Over the Rainbow, produced and mixed by Simon Hill and Rob May, was
recorded last fall in an aunt's spare bedroom so that Connie, who lives
in the town of Streetly in West Midlands, would not lose valuable
school time. The album is filled with Connie's stirring interpretations
of such classics as "I Will Always Love You," "Imagine," "Ben," "My
Favorite Things" and "What a Wonderful World," even a cover of Bob
Marley's "Three Little Birds."
"I'm really looking forward to coming to America to do some singing, meet new people, and make some new friends!" said Connie when asked about her impending introduction across the Atlantic.
And America is certainly looking forward to meeting her. Already, Connie Talbot's recordings have sold in large quantities as imports; she's got many fans in the United States without having sung a lick here, and a definite buzz is in the air: Plans are in the works for the young star to sing duets with major American artists, and to appear on some of the States' most popular entertainment TV programs.
The future is limitless for this talented, delightful young singer, who has already come so far in the year since her debut. Just how far? Well, where that space in her mouth used to be, now there are two beautiful new front teeth!

Dear Ms. Stone,
I am writing with an offer that could provide an opportunity for you to escape all future public condemnation when you show insensitivity to the suffering of others.
Given that millions of people—including children—were killed, injured, and left homeless by the recent earthquake in China, everyone was shocked to hear you dismiss the devastating effects of this disaster. However, your cavalier attitude did not come as a surprise to us. We are used to the indifference that you flaunt and the callous remarks that you make about the suffering and death of the animals whose fur you wear so often.
Scientific studies suggest that the prefrontal regions of the brains of people who lack empathy might be underdeveloped. Here’s our offer: Would you allow PETA to pay for a scan of the prefrontal region of your brain to determine if comments and actions that seem to demonstrate a lack of empathy are the result of a physical defect?
Mink, foxes, rabbits, and other fur-bearing animals are tortured and killed so that people like you can steal and wear these animals’ fur. We have sent you videotapes showing that animals on fur farms spend their lives confined to cramped, filthy wire cages with little to no shelter from the scorching sun and freezing rain. Animals are killed by the cheapest and crudest methods, including poisoning, neck-breaking, gassing, and genital electrocution. Workers bludgeon animals with metal rods and slam them against the ground, which breaks the animals’ bones but does not always kill or stun them. Sometimes animals are still conscious when they are skinned.
You don’t have to be a member of Mensa to understand that the suffering endured by animals in the fur industry is supported by your desire to deck yourself out in fur. The type of thinking that would allow a perhaps otherwise intelligent woman to deny the cruel consequences of her actions can be established through a brain scan. We urge you to undergo this test at our expense. With help, you might be able to develop empathy and curb your urge to scoff at various forms of misery and violence. Please contact me to make the necessary arrangements. I can be reached at 757-962-8302.
Very truly yours,
Ingrid E. Newkirk
Verne Troyer managed to get the sex tape starring him and a former
girlfriend out of circulation, at least for a while, last night, after
a federal judge granted a temporary restraining order requested by his
attorneys. The celebrity Web site TMZ pulled the 25-second snippet of
the Austin Powers actor that had been up since Wednesday, and
the ruling also blocks any attempt by a porn distributor to take orders
for the full 50-minute video.
Everyone knows that Lindsay Lohan has a little sister Ali, but there is yet another, secret sister — that even they have never previously known existed!
Linds' father, Michael Lohan, has admitted that, while married — but at the time separated — to now-ex-wife Dina Lohan, he had a relationship with another woman which resulted in a pregnancy.
Michael says, "Years later [the woman] contacted me, convincing me that I was the only person she was with and that she had my child."
In fact, there are letters Michael wrote to the girl's mother where he says that his secret daughter "is beginning to look a lot like Linds, with a mix of [younger brother] Cody, believe it or not." He also sent his daughter a photograph of himself while he was still in Collins Correctional Facility which he signed "Love Daddy."
Michael, 48, and Dina, 45, married in 1985 and divorced in 2007. They are parents to Lindsay, who celebrates birthday number 22 on July 2, Michael Jr., 20, Ali, 14 and 12-year-old Cody. Dina, Ali and Cody now have their own reality series, Living Lohan on E!, while Lindsay is attempting to revive her career with guest appearances on TV's Ugly Betty and her currently shooting film, Labor Pains.
Michael's secret daughter has had many conversations with her dad, the girl's mother says!. He even called her for her 13th birthday on June 12. But he has never visited her or provided financial support.
"It's time for Michael to take responsibility," the girl's mother says.
Verne Troyer has filed a $20 million lawsuit, claiming TMZ violated his rights by publishing and airing portions of his sex tape.
In the suit, filed today in U.S. District Court in downtown L.A., Troyer claims TMZ violated his privacy rights and infringed on his copyright and trademark by running portions of the tape on TMZ TV and TMZ.com. He also alleges TMZ violated his right of publicity and misappropriated his name and likeness.
Troyer says the tape was stolen and ended up in the hands of Kevin Blatt, the guy who distributed "One Night in Paris." Blatt is also named as a defendant.
In addition to damages, Troyer wants an injunction prohibiting further dissemination of the video.
