I downloaded Chrome this afternoon. I wasn't expecting much but what I got was AWESOME.
--- Let me review IE a bit. IE works.... OK. But there are problems with it. It's bloated - it takes a ton of memory. And it crashes... all the time. They have not fixed this problem and unlike FireFox which re-opens the crashed tabs IE does no such thing. So I stopped using IE a while ago except when absolutely necessary.
--- FireFox has been what I use for a while now. Yes it can crash - but restoration of all your tabs and what you were doing was perfect. It was very user friendly and for the most part I had no major complaints. On complaint though is something that I have heard all over the internet - that it's a memory hog or that it has a memory leak. This is true. I don't know why but if you leave FireFox running with alot of tabs the memory used will go up and up and up without you doing anything. At this point what I personally do is go to the task manager and end the firefox process. In doing that the next time I open it I get my tabs and memory back. It's a pain.
--- Now let's move to Google Chrome. Google Chrome (BETA) for Windows
Google Chrome is a browser that combines a minimal design with sophisticated technology to make the web faster, safer, and easier.

I have never been more impressed with a browser in my entire life. I have tried all of them... none of them come close. It took me no time to download and it imported all my firefox tabs, cookies, and usernames and passwords. In other words I could open all my tabs just like with firefox in this brand new browser and it functioned just like Firefox when I opened it. Now some differences. Each tab is used differently in Chrome. Instead of all the tabs being one application like in FF and IE, Chrome makes them all their own task. That way if a tab crashes the others stay just fine. The speed... let me tell you about the speed. It's unbelievably fast. WAY faster than IE. WAY faster than FireFox. You won't believe how fast it is. When I click a link to a new URL I have never seen anything open and run faster. Also I have been running it all day and NO tabs have crashed. It runs smoothly and quickly with no problems. If you want to get techy about how it works I looked at the task manager. It runs a Google Chrome basic application that manages everything (small memory), then the tabs, and then a flash tab. The flash tab will be the one that takes up most of your memory. By splitting all of these processes up they have made something that runs 10x faster and doesnt crash. Your flash application will run like fire. The tab setup is easy to use and some of the options and features are great. This is my new browser. This is BETA 1 out of Google... if it's that much better than it's competition now imagine how good it will be in the coming months and years. It's a clear winner.
Here is a link that explains all of the functions and a download link. I'd urge you to try it. Also watch all the video's.

-- One disclaimer. It's in Beta so it will not work with EVERYTHING. I was not able to post this on Chrome because I am in a Beta program with TypePad (Beta and Beta = mess). Also when I went to this site (MY SITE!) it warned me of some spyware or malware or something. Nothing has changed... I believe it thinks AdBright (which is on 100,000 sites) is the problem. The underlining of keywords on AdBright may lead it to believe something is wrong. In any event don't worry - there is no SpyWare, MalWare or anything else on this site
